What we commit to you
Cleaning and Disinfecting
We have invested in hands free taps, hands free soap dispensers and automatic closers on our fire doors so that we can keep doors open to avoid surface contact as much as possible. We have a specialist clean team who will be on site every hour that we are open, and will remain on site after we close to complete a deep clean. We have invested in a fogging machine which will ‘fog’ each room to ensure every inch of the room is reached with disinfectant. The fogging provides protection for seven days and will be completed each week. Our teams will be on hand to clean and sanitise all equipment and surfaces. Blue roll, disinfectant, wipes and hand sanitiser will be available in all areas of the building.
Our team have had full training on the cleaning procedures. We have asked all staff to isolate if they, or anyone they live with, have symptoms of COVID-19. We’ve installed protective shields at that reception desks and have provided personal protective equipment (PPE) for all staff.
Each area of the club will have a capacity based on size of the room and guidelines on social distancing. You will see signage around the building to guide you and help with the flow of people.
In line with social distancing guidelines we have marked out areas for each member in each studio to ensure every person has enough space. The timetable has been changed slightly to ensure we have adequate time between classes for thorough cleaning. Please note that we will not be providing mats or props in the Mind & Body studio so please bring your own. These can also be purchased at reception.
We will also soon be launching our new online platform, The Thames Club Online, which will supplement your training in club with online classes and workouts you can do anywhere! This is included in your membership and more details will be sent via email and can be found on our website in the coming days.
We have spread out the equipment in the gym so that there is plenty of space between each piece of kit. We have created new training areas to enable more members to train at any time. In the Thames Suite you will find five individual workout zones where small group classes will take place – ideal for some extra guidance and attention from your instructor and perfect if you’d prefer your own workout zone and kit! The new outside area offers plenty of space for some fresh air training and we’ve bought some new kit as well!
Unfortunately, we will not be able to run face to face consultations at the moment, however we appreciate that you may need some guidance and a new exercise programme so we will look at ways that we can do this remotely over the coming weeks.
We have added a new lane to help you space out and as always, will regularly check pool chemical levels to ensure they are within the recommended guidelines. The Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna will remain closed until further notice in order for us to adhere to social distancing, and cleaning requirements of these facilities. During family swim time we ask that parents keep their children close to ensure families can socially distance. Please note that during family swim time there will be two lanes for lane swimming available, with two people permitted in each lane. Please shower thoroughly before swimming in the changing rooms as the poolside shower will be out of action.
In order to manage social distancing, for the moment, the changing rooms will be open for people using the pool or Hot Yoga Club only and will have clear zones for changing at a safe distance. Hair dryers and straighteners will be removed temporarily. We appreciate that this is not ideal but we ask that you appreciate that our decision is in the interest of safety with regards to social distancing. As soon as we can we will open the changing rooms for members doing classes or using the gym. If using a locker please bring your own padlock. If you do not have one, they can be purchased from reception for £6 and will no longer be available to borrow. Toilet facilities in The Thames Suite will be closed.
There are certain settings for air conditioning that are compliant with regulation. Please do not amend the air conditioning controls on the walls. Also, please note that settings will be different for different rooms based on air flow, ceiling height etc. Rest assured that we are compliant with regulation and we as that you please support us in this.
What we ask that you commit to us

Hand sanitiser will be widely available throughout the club – please use this during your visit. Our teams are fully prepared to clean all areas, we ask that you support us in this and clean all equipment and training areas before and after you use them. Please note that sweat towels will not be permitted in the club, please use blue roll instead.
Our entry system is contactless so please bring your membership card to sign in with every time you come, this will register your booking and prevent you being charged a no-show fee. If you require a new card please email the reception team and we will prepare one for you to collect. Please also be aware that if you do not have an up to date photo on your account you will be asked to have one taken.
Please book all visits. In order for us to adhere to social distancing guidelines we have set capacities of people in each area of the club so to avoid the risk of being turned away when you arrive, we ask that you book your session in advance. The easiest way to book is via the app or website, but if this is not possible, we can also accept bookings by phone. Bookings for all activities are bookable 7 days in advance. Back to back bookings will not be permitted in the same area e.g. you must not book two classes back to back. Gym bookings are 60 minutes long, swim bookings are 30 or 60 minutes long. Please cancel all bookings with plenty of notice if you can no longer attend. There will be a £5 late cancellation fee if cancellation is within two hours of the booking or a £5 no-show fee if your attendance is not logged. Any junior visits must be booked by phone.
Please arrive ready to work out as changing room access is restricted and we cannot permit bags or excessive coats and jumpers to be left in studios or on the gym floor. Please arrive on time, as opposed to early for your booked session as we are not able to permit waiting outside the gym or studios. Please bring your membership card to allow contactless entry and reduce waiting times at reception. Please bring a full water bottle to avoid queuing for the water fountains and please avoid drinking directly from the fountains – bottles can be purchased for £1 at reception.
